Entering into the throne room of heaven is the height of humanity and yet the lowest priority for many Christians. The seemingly small work of prayer challenges our faith to simply take God at His word. When God’s people recognize that He is not only true to His word, but that HE IS HIS WORD, God’s people begin to see what prayer can really do.

When Jim Maxim was at the lowest point of his life and laid at death's door, Jim's mother prayed for the soul of her son. God answered her prayer and Jim's life was claimed, redeemed, and transformed for Jesus Christ. The dramatic story of Jim's conversion is found in his book, “Face-to-Face with God.”
​
Since that time, Jim and Cathy have been evangelizing, counseling, and ministering in the name of Jesus all over the world. In particular, Jim has been burdened to pray, and to lead others in intercessory prayer, for pastors, their families and churches. God continues to use Jim, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to renew their prayer lives and to encourage God's people in their walks with Him.

As a senior pastor for over two decades, Daniel Henderson brought prayer-based revitalization to numerous churches. Now, as the President of Strategic Renewal, Daniel is dedicating his full-time efforts to help congregations across the country and world experience renewal. Daniel is sought after for his expertise in leading corporate prayer. He has authored numerous books on biblical leadership and prayer including, Old Paths, New Power and Transforming Prayer: How Everything Changes When You Seek God’s Face.

It was 2011, on a hot Thursday night when a storm shut down I-95 near Philadelphia. But that did not stop over 3000 people from braving the weather to go to the Convention Center for a Prayer Gathering. What could possibly draw that kind of crowd with only a month of advertising? The better question is, “Who could draw that crowd?” The answer: Only God.
To understand how importance of this moment, you have to go back many decades, to a moment when a young man was in a near fatal car accident. In the book Face to Face with God Jim Maxim recounts the time when he was far from God. As a teenager, he had abused drugs and alcohol. While he was out partying, he violently crashed his car and was at death’s door. His mother, Isobel, was on her knees that night pleading with God to rescue her son. Who could use the prayer of a humble mother and the near loss of life to save Jim? Only God.
From that moment forward, Jim was devoted to Christ. God put a fire in Jim to share the gospel, God’s rescuing power, and the importance of prayer. This calling lead to many moments of saying “Yes” to the Lord. So, who could possibly ask a man to hold a prayer gathering, on a Thursday, in August? Only God.

Jim and his wife Cathy began holding city-wide prayer gatherings. As they served the Lord, they developed a particular burden for pastors. They heard story after story of pastors who were hurting, felt under attack, and leaving the ministry. There were also stories of pastors who were building ministries relying on modern corporate strategies. In both cases there was a common thread – prayerlessness.

Jim and Cathy, along with Pastor Daniel Henderson, (Strategic Renewal), saw a great need for prayer to return to Christian life. Together they developed the 21 Days series, starting with 21 Days of Breakthrough Prayer designed to help reignite prayer life. Then they released 21 Days of Deeper Prayer to help Christians strengthen their relationship with God through scripture-based prayer. Each volume combines a daily devotional along with 21 days of interactive audio prayers to accompany each chapter.
Who could use this simple tool to re-engage prayer in churches, small groups, and Christian homes for thousands across the country? Only God.
